A contract has been signed for the building of a yacht to defend the America's Cup against the British challenger, Mr. 2. 0. M Sopwith's Endeavour II. The race for the cup will take place off Rhoda Island next July. The en- tire expenses are being borne by Mr. E. S. Vanderbilt, the noted American millionaire. A constr» rative estimate places the cost of building the yacht at about $250,000.
