BARRY AND FLOYD
OUTSTANDING
The Rugby "A" fifteens of the Hong Kong Football Club and Ro- yal Welch Fusiliers met in a |friendly game on the Club ground yesterday when the latter won by two goals and a try (13 points) to a try and a penalty goal (6 points).)
A fitter and faster team, the Fusiliers dominated play in the first half, when they scored all their points, and only let the Clui through once, van Leeuwen touch- ing down in fine style. After the interval, however, the Club not only held their own, but if anything had the better of the exchanges.

ALEXANDER MARKS MOST PROMISING PROBABLE PLAYERS FOR NOVEMBER 20 MATCH FINE WICKET KEEPER-BATSMAN (By J. C. Davis, Australia's leading cricket authority)
Sydney, October 2:
BESIDES the better-known Australian bats- men mentioned in my previous article, others, who have not been seen in England, may come into the running for the Tests. One of these is Alexander Marks, the Sydney left- hander, who has not had much encouragement from selectors. Marks is 26 and was in the run- ning for the 1930 and 1934 Australian elevens for England. He is of the Joe Darling rather than of the Clem Hill or Warren Bardsley type.
A very powerful driver, he is not so dour and immovable as Joe Darling was, and yet more accomplished in placing the ball to the on-side. Last season against the M.C.C. in two matches he scored 88, 64 and 40.
- His best innings, however, was against Queensland, when the Aboriginal fast bowler, Gilbert, gave no end of trouble to the other batsmen Marks made 201, attacking Gilbert as Joe.
