MOST of the Hungarian Olympic champions

have won not only fame in Berlin, but also jobs in Hungary. Many of the young athletes had no jobs at all and they had a hard fight not only to live. but to be able to practice their sports. After the games the population of Hungary raised a cry for them to be given jobs — and they now have them.

Ilona Elek, fencing winner, was nominated official guide by the Hungarian State Railway Association. Two others received railway jobs, while some were appointed to private positions All of them had a year's free ticket to all movies, given them by the Association of Movie Directors. Tickets for theatres, too. Even the beard of Harangi, the boxer, will be trimmed for nothing for the next four years, until the Tokyo Olympiad, by a barber admirer of this branch of sport. Another enthusiast sent Harangi an enormous roll weighing 3,000 grams, accom panied by a letter stating "that it is only a small part of my admiration put into dough."

It is customary to wait for the end of the flat-racing season in November when a bet- ter line on the form of the two-year-olds can be figured, but the "bookies" are already quoting Lord Astor's Early School at 8 to 1 to top the list, followed by the Aga Khan's Le Grand Duc 10 to 1. The Hour is quoted at 12 to 1, Covenanter and Foray 14 to 1, Full Sail and Pascal 13 to 1, and Hartington and Phakes 20 to 1.
