Saved

Five 15th century cottages at Min Corner, Hadley Green, near Barnet, have been acquired by the Abbey Folk Park and Museum at New Barnet. They will be re erected in its grounds.

The cottages stood close by the battlefield of Barnet, and from their windows men haust have: watched the last stand of War wick, the King-Misker, who in 1471 was killed fighting against Edward IV.

Their great antiquity was only revealed when their demolition was recently ordered, by the local council. Fifteenth century archi- tecture was then discovered below successive 16th, 17th and 19th! century coverings

They have been purchased by Father Ward, director of "the museum, and will be rebuilt to show the successive, development of English cottage architecture.
