Shanghai, September 12.` The Shanghai Lawn Bowls Club beat Hong Kong yesterday after-1 noin, on their own green, by 25 shots, to 23, being very lucky to

have escaped defeat, as they col lapsed in the last few ends of the match.

The Lawn Bowl Club four were:-W. A. Turnbull (skip). W. J. Monk (No. 3), E. R. Harmer; (No. 2). A. Harvey (lead). and Hong Kong were represented by- H. A. Alves (skip). A. Hyde-Lay; (No. 33. F. V. V. Ribeiro (No 2), and P. E. Kaight (lead).

The green was very fast and the gusty cross wind blowing made bowling difficult for both! fours. The Hong Kong skip, H. A. Alves, was the outstanding player and easily the best man on the green. making a great effort: against lear odds.
