The Spanish war news yesterday largely consisted of insur- gent claims, including a claim to the capture of the hill-town of Ronda. the bulwark of the Malaga region, but well-informed circles in La Linea discredit the claim, while recent visitors to Malaga express the opinion that the city is not likely to be captured speedily. They state that the position of the Govern- ment forces has been difficult owing to a shortage of ammuni- tion and petrol, but a large consignment of arms and ammunition from Mexico is expected to arrive at Malaga by sea to-day.
