SOLDIERS CHARGED WITH ASSAULT TAXI-DRIVER GAGGED AND ROBBED
THREE RIFLEMEN ALLEGED TO BE CULPRITS
The August Criminal Sessions opened this morning with the case in which Rfn. Thomas Todd, Rfn. Sydney Brown and Rin. Thomas Harker, all of the Royal Ulster Rifles, were charged before His Honour the Chief Justice, Sir Atholl MacGregor, with robbing Leung Yiu, taxi-driver, at Castle Peak Road in the early morning of July 6 last.
Mr. E. H. Williams, Assistant Attorney-General, conducted the case for the prosecution, while the defendants were not legal- ly represented. Lt. F. Donlea, R.U.R., was present in Court dur- ing the morning session, the jury empanelled being as follows:-
