An agreement between the Bri-i tish and Brazilian Governments regarding most-favoured-nation treatment is officially announced. Peading the conclusion of a Treaty of Commerce and Navigation His Majesty's

Stocks: The reactionary turn of the market this afternoon, al- though arrested before the close, was somewhat disquietening, par- (ticularly as we can find no specific] adverse news. The bullish trend is not broken, but we would ad-i vise traders to with-hold further commitments until the immediate trend of the market is more 'de-] finitely disclosed. Wheat: The European crops are the poor, with the exception of Danubian countries. These terri-| tories, being Canada's only size- able, competitors, make the Domi- nion's official carry-over of 127- 000,000 bushels a strong factor. Messrs. J. E. Bennett & Company! expect higher prices for all grains. Total sales: 26.290.000 bushels.

Cotton: Temperatures in Texas are high, the record being 120 degrees and the average 103 de- grees. The drought conditions in! Oklahoma have not been relieved.

Corn: The weather continues to be decidedly unfavourable in the corn belt.
