E. NORONHA and F. X. M. da Silva (Recreio) qualified for the Final of the Open Pairs Lawn Bowls Championship last evening when they beat the Kowloon Bowling Green Club representatives, S. A. Bright and J. E. Henson by 24-15 in a match which promised to be an exceedingly close struggle up till the 16th head, but which eventually developed into a fairly easy win for the Portuguese players. The game was played before a large gathering EASY TENNIS WIN on the K.C.C. green with Mr. H. Overy as the umpire.
There was very little to choose between the players in the early stages of the game, except that Bright was not as accurate as might have been desired, but his skip, Joe Henson, was in fire fettle, and time and again saved a dangerous situation with a well placed wood.
Silva was also bowling well, but he was not in Dame Fortune's favour, especially on the 12th head when, with his side lying the shot, he carried the jack to give the opposition a
