London, June 29.
OR the first time since 1923 Oxford won both the swimming
bridge at the Empire Pool, Wembley.
They secured the swimming events for the third year in succession by 31 points to 22 points, their representatives fill- ing first place in five of the seven contests. They won the water polo match by 3 goals to 1.
The finest race was the 150 yards back-stroke between the first strings, Denis Young (Oxford) and K. T. Scott (Cambridge). Young won in Jmin. 53sec. They were almost level until the last turn, but Young drew away slightly to win by 1 1-5sec.
