DEFENCE DEBATE IN COMMONS
SIR THOMAS INSKIP'S REVIEW
PROGRAMME ACCELERATED
London, To-day-
The Minister for the Co-ordination of Defence, Sir Thomas Inskip, initiating a debate in the House of Commons last night. gave a review of his department's efforts to accelerate the pro- gramme of rearmament. Referring to the naval programme, he said that in ship production, equipment and personnel the re- ports were satisfactory, and while the maintenance and replace- ments had been proceeding in the normal manner, additions and expansions on a growing scale were constantly taking place. He was not aware of any anxiety in any quarter as to the naval position.
