Canton, To-day.
Four torpedo-boats of the Canton flotilla, representing the -cream of the naval force, deserted from Whampoa late yester- day afternoon and have since declared their support of the Cen- tral Authorities. The four torpedo-boats arrived at Hong Kong at 8.45 p.m. last night.
The Bocca Tigris forts on the estuary of the Pearl River sighted the four craft passing at about 7 pm, and signalled them enquiring, where they were going at that hour. The command. ing officers of the four boats ignored the signals and sped past.
