SCHOOLROOM ON

A ROOF T

Pupils' Health And Nerves Improve

ASTONISHING RESULTS

Astonishing resuits have been noted at a roof-top schoolrcom in- stalled last year for 30 backward and ailing boys in a London ele- mentary school.

At the school where, the experi ment was made-Popham-road Boys' School, Islington, N.-care- ful records were made regularly for a period of a year of the pupils' height, weight and

general fitness. They show that:

The boys have gained con- siderably in height and weight.

They look better in health. Nervous disorders have dis- appeared.

Attendance has been regular. Very few colds have been re- corded.

Boys Install Electric Light The roof-top class-room is furnished with folding deaks. blackboards, a master's table, and a weighing-machine. B has been fitted by the boys with electric light.

Lessons follow the usual school routine, except for special atten-

tion to physical exercises and ́ ́-handwork......

Malt and milk "ations" sre given to the boys daily.

Mr. A. W. Dean, the headmas ter, is so satisfied with the results of the experiment that he is to al low other classes to take some of their lessons. “on tapa
