ALLEGED BRIBERY CASE AGAINST RANDALL AND SEVEN CHINESE- HEARING OPENS AT SESSIONS
Before the Chief-Justice, Sir Atholl MacGregor, this morning at the Criminal Sessions, Albert Randall, together with seven Chinese named Lee Yik, Leung Yan, Ho Loi, Ho Shum, Lee Kwai- king, Kwan Ching and Ngan Ching pleaded not guilty to a charge of conspiracy to commit a crime by influencing misconduct by Revenue officers in the execution of their duty by not prosecnt-; ing, while the first defendant, Albert Randall, pleaded not guilty to a second charge of giving a bribe to a public servant on March 31 in the sum of $500.
Mr. H. G. Sheldon, K.C. instructed by Mr. W. A. Mackinlay of Messrs. Deacons, appeared for the first defendant only, while Mr. E. H. Williams, Assistant Attorney-General, conducted, the case on behalf of the Crown.
