FIELD AND SOUZA SUCCEED
The Second Round Open Pairs Lawn Bowls Championship matches last evening were fen- tured by some excellent displays, and in one or two of the games the final results were in the balance until the very last head.
Although not entirely unexpect- ed, the defeat of the Omari brothers by N. J. Bebbington and
A. Hyde-Lay, at the Recreio, came
as a surprise to many followers of the game.
The winners led from the start, but the Omars were never very far

MAJOR SENSATION IN
SOCCER CIRCLES REQUIREMENTS AND THE COMPANIES' ACT
COMPLETE OVERHAUL NECESSARY
(By "Leighton")
London, May 29. SENSATION has been caused in Football League circles by a statement that the League's method of government as set out in League rules is not in accordance with the re- quirements of the Companies Act, and is illegal.
This view has been confirmed by counsel, and has been the subject of several conferences recently between an expert · on company law, who made the discovery, and representatives of leading League clubs, and, as a result, the chairman of the First and Second Division clubs of the League are to-day to receive an explanatory statement which will be discussed at the annual meeting of the League in London on June 8.
The discovery, it is claimed, renders necessary a complete overhaul of the methods of election of officials of the League--- President, Vice-Presidents, and Management Committee as well It is as representatives of clubs attending League meetings. pointed out that in accordance with section 116 of the Companies Act, the law requires that every director of every company must be qualified as a shareholder or the properly-appointed representative of the shareholder.
