Claim For Fire And Theft

FRAUD ALLEGED

A claim by a Whitechapel jewel- ler against Lloyd's underwriters. in respect of £4,000 loss by theft and fire was before Mr. Jus-j tice Branson in the King's Beach Division last month.

The claim was contested by the underwriters on various grounds, one of which was that it was false and fraudulent.

The plaintiff was Mr. Abraham Shoot, a Russian Jew, who is now 2 naturalised Englishman. O Filey-avenue, N., carrying on busi- ness in High-street, Whitechapel.

Mr. Harold Babington Hill, of Lloyd's Buildings, one of the un- derwriters concerned, was sued as defendant.
