a typical Douglas American air transport plane and then blown so that the plane would increase pro- portionally to hold twice as many passengers as it now holds, 12, this process would typify the enlargement which is taking place in the “flying stock” of several American airlines.

Recently the first of the new larger 24-passenger planes rolled out of Santa Monica, California, for delivery to American Airlines. Nineteen more will follow at the rate of about one,
