ZIMMERN PLAYS AT TOP OF HIS FORM
“B” DIVISION TENNIS STRUGGLE
(By "Referee")
TH
THE Craigengower Cricket Club team which last season played in the "A" Division of the Lawn Tennis League proved vastly superior to the Indian Recreation Club in their "B" Division encounter at the Valley yesterday, when they won by 7 sets to 2, after leading by 4 sets to 21 at the completion of the second round.
It was quite obvious after yesterday's match that Craigen- gower will offer the Chinese R.C. a serious challenge for the title, as they have at least two good pairs who are good enough for three sets each! J. B. Leonard and Y. Hachiuma, who have played together for the last two or three seasons, both in the League and the Colony Championships, were in a class of their own, while Robert Choa and F. R. Zimmern are a steady pair with a wide variety of strokes at their disposal.
Zimmern gave à brilliant "display yesterday, his work at the net and overhead from all parts of the court being very sound throughout. He has a good service, while his volleying and smashing was most impressive. He was very quick on his feet and, although his positioning could be polished up, he made Choa an admirable partner.

There was, however, the! usual lack of cohesion at times and several shots passed them down the centre, while many a deep lob had both beaten as a result of untimely advances to Ithe net.
