BADOGLIO'S REPORT TO ROME
OPEN TOWN OF GOBA BOMBED
-CHINA MAIL" SPECIAL
Rome, To-day.
The Italian Colonial Ministry announces that it has received a telegram from Marshal Bado- glio, stating that over 2,000 dum-dum cartridge cases used by the Abyssinians were picked up by the Italian troops after the most recent Abys- sinian defeat. Marshal Badoglio asserts that he has definitely ascertained that almost all Abys- sinian soldiers carry dum-dum bullets.
A telegram from the Governor of Somaliland deciares that of 160 Italians wounded, 120 had dum-dum wounds. Proofs of these statements, together with both telegrams, are being forward- ed to the League of Nations.
The semi-official Giornale d'Italia, in a very grim leading arti cle. repeats the charge made some time ago that these dum-dum bullets originated in English ammunition factories and were de- livered to the Abyssinians in the last few months.
In Geneva, writes the Giornale, Mr. Eden tried to turn the League against Italy by bringing unproved charges of the use of poison gas against Italy. - Trans-Ocean Service.
