AMBRIDGE won the Boat Race to-day by five lengths in 21mins. 6sec., this making their 13th consecutive victory.

Oxford won the toss and chose Surrey. This meant that we were to see the best possible race.
The great question was whether Oxford could keep level with Cambridge as far as Harrods. If they could do this then Cam- bridge would scarcely try to row past them on the outside of the bend.
There was a strong wind blowing from Middlesex and slightly ahead at the start, thus making it almost dead ahead at Harrods- This meant a favourable patch at that point for Cambridge in view of their better watermanship.

CRAWFORD'S FIRST MEETING WITH DONALD BUDGE
(By A. Wallis Myers)
March 31.
A DAVIS CUP match of vital importance to the
countries concerned and probably to the British holders as well-will take place at the Germantown Cricket Club, Philadelphia, at the end of next month. This is the encounter be- tween the United States and Australia, the win- ners coming to Europe for the "inter-zone" at Wimbledon.
The third and last day of the match, May 31, is a Sunday. HENRY COTTON IN Here a precedent will be established in America. Since the Davis Cup was established 36 years ago no Cup match has ever been ad- vertised for a Sunday. But the Pennsylvania State Legislature now permits collection of gate receipts on that day, and the execu tive has taken advantage of the new law.
