Chicago, February 16. T

THE United States has made vast strides in developing youthful swimmers since the 1932 Olympic Games and should win this year's acquatic events at Berlin, Stanley Brauninger, Swimming coach of the Lake Shore Athletic Club, predicted.

Branninger, who recently returned with a youthful swim-! ming team from a 39-day tour in Europe, said Japan would be the only nation capable of offering the United States real com- petition in the 1936 Olympics.

The Nipponese may be expected to put up a battle to hold" the championship they won in 1932 at Los Angeles when they took first place in every event except the 200-metre dash, Brauninger said. -

This deli- cate question, but one of far-reaching impor-gether with Adolf Kiefer, the tance, arises from the publication of the team to represent China. The names of the players, as released by the China Amateur Athletic Federa- tion, reveal that four belong to the Straits Chinese Football Association Chia Keng Hock, Chua Boon Lay, Choy Khun Onn and Lim Chwee Chua

Inquiries made by the Straits Times amount to the fact that it does not follow that the four present members of the S.C.F.A. whose names are mentioned will actually take part in the Olympic Games.

Three, former S.C.F.A players who are now in China are also included, namely Chee Ah Hui (who is now in the Canton Air Force), Tay Quee Liang and Darkie Chen.
