LOCAL SOCIETY APPEALS TO PUBLIC
At the annual public meeting of the Hong Kong Society for the Protection of Children, which was held yesterday afternoon at the Helena May Institute, the Pre sidential Address was read by Dr. R. H. Kotewall, who presidei ati the meeting on behalf of the Hon. Sir Shou-son Chow, President of the Society who, though present, 'did not conduct the meeting on se- count of a recent illness, from which he had not fully recovered.
The Chairman of the executive committee of the Society, Mr. G. P. de Martin M.RE. in seconding the adoption of the Report, made an eloquent appeal for funda to enable the Society to extend its work.
The meeting decided to invite His Excellency the Governor. Sir Andrew Caldecott,
