the Club-Army and IRC-Navy matche the captains of the Services teams elected to field after calling right in the spin.
The Club-Army match, which was drawn, was featured by. a polished innings for 107 not out by Alec Pearce who showed in- no uncertain manner that, despite his indifferent form during Interport week, he is still the Colony's best batsman. His cover drives were a treat to watch, but the most striking feature of his innings was that, although he was Scoring at a very good rate, he never allowed himself to be hurted by the bowlers.
AH Madar also batted well for the Indians against the Navy, but perhaps the most delightful innings of the afternoon (from a "brighter cricket" point of view) was It M. K Branwell's- 62 against the IRC when he hit 9 fours and two sixes. As result of their win, however, the Indians are now very favourably placed in the race for championship-honours
