CAN GLADIATOR GO EXTRA DISTANCE? WADEBRIDGE FAVOURED FOR SUBS. CLASSICTM

(By Rapier")

HAVING failed to start in the required num

ber of races in the first half of the season, Liberty Bay, the only unbeaten pony on the Val- ley track, is not qualified to run in the Hong Kong Autumn Champions at the Fourteenth Extra Race Meeting, to be held on Saturday, December 14.

For this reason a thrilling race, over one and a quarter miles, is expected between Gladiator, King's Warden, Soldier of Britain and Cossack's Beauty. I might mention that the failure of Liberty Bay to qualify was not due to any oversight on the part of his owner, but rather was it a sporting gesture on his part in order to make the race more open,

It will be interesting to see if Gladiator, under his new joc- key (Mr. G. Frost) can go the extra distance-and-stave of the challenge of Soldier of Britain. If Mr. Frost can win this race he will stand a good chance of riding the winners of the three Champions, as he will be taking out Able Amazon în the Queens- land Autumn Champions and Double Chance in the Hong Kong Autumn Sub-Griffins Champions. One good pany that has failed to qualify for the last named race is Seventeenth of September.

I think we will see Wade-.
