250TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATED

A

BRILLIANT spectacle, favoured by very fine weather, took place on the Polo ground this morning when the ceremony of Trooping the Colour by the 1st Batallion, the Lincolnshire Re- giment, in commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the rais- ing of the Regiment (June 20, 1685), was held before a distinguish- ed gathering including His Excellency the General Officer Com warding the Troops. Major General F. S. Thackeray, and Mrs. Thackeray, Lady Southorn and party, attended by Captain W. J. R. Cragg (1/Lincolns), and officers representing every unit in Hong Kong.

The occasion was marked by the attendance of Major-General C. R. Simpson. CB Colonel of the Lincolnshire Regiment, who was the Reviewing Officer, and who presented the Battalion with new silver drums last Friday to mark this special occasion Lient Colonel J. A. A.
