New Decree, Regarding Public Meeting

Paris, To-day. Decrees against the menace of "Fascist fighting organisa- tions in France" are now being drafted by the Minister of Jus- tice, M. Bernard, according to L'Oeutre, which, however, is the -only newspaper furnishing this information.

Processions, demonstrations and meetings of all kinds in the streets and public places will in future) have to receive the sanction of a competent burgomaster, who must be informed of it at least three days before it is announced to the prospective participants.

Such demonstrations can them be forbidden if considered pre- judicial to public order, and “any- body participating in the prohi- bited meeting is liable to a fine of 16 to 2,000 francs.

The same punishment is laid down for intentionally laying false! information as to the nature or object of the demonstration, while the organisation concerned can be dissolved.
