A case against Miss Winifred Margaret May, a teacher at Clock House Roman Catholic School Epsom, who was alleged to have assaulted a boy with a cane, was dismissed at Epsom

.

Dr. Barbara Mitchell said the boy showed evidence of a "fairly severe" caning. In answer to a question, she said she considered any stroke with the cane would; she did not be- be excessive as lieve in corporal punishment.
