New York. September 21. Picked by Jimmy Braddock to win on a decision but on the short end of two to one betting odds, Max Baer reversed his form and looked good to-day in his semi- final workout for Tuesday's battle with Joe Louis.

ALL attention in the golfing world will be con- centrated on the Ridgwood Park Golf Club course New Jersey, to-day, and to-morrow. as it is here that Great Britain will meet the Unit- ed States for the sixth occasion in the Ryder Cup contest in which the best professional golf stars from either side of the Atlantic clash.
The British team, which includes a man of 45 and another of 23, was quite confident that the trophy would return to England. when interviewed before leaving for the United States, and Charles Whitcombe, captain of the team, went even so far as to insure the trophy for the return journey!
