A double purpose lies behind the official an nouncement that the Italian troops in Libya are being reinforced. A spirit of rebellion has smouldered among the Senussi tribesmen since General Graziano subdued them in 1932, and many took refuge in Egypt near the Cyrenaican border.
The Senussi agitation recently revived when the Italians withdrew some troops from Libya and Egypt, and is reported here to have been en- couraged by the British authorities in Egypt.
