POLICE MAKE VALUABLE CAPTURES FOR 1935-6 SOCCER SEASON India Team TOURISTS Brittain To Lead Junior Team

THREE FOUR-DAY TEST MATCHES ARRANGED INDIAN HOCKEY XI RETURN

Calcutta, August 24.

THERE is much satisfaction in India that, after all, the Board of Control for Cricket in India has agreed to accept the Australian cricket team's visit in the coming cold weather. The visiting side will not be as strong as it was first hoped, due to the action of the Australian Board in not allowing W. M. Woodfull, W. H. Ponsford and A. F. Kippax to join the team, presumably on the ground that men who have retired from first class cricket in their own country cannot be allowed to visit another coun- try as Australia's representatives, thereby keeping out young men to whom such a tour would be an education.
