LECTRIC table cooking equipment not only makes for convenience in the prepar- ation and serving of unusual combinations of foods, but it imparts to entertaining the de- lightful quality of informality which is so much enjoyed by young and old.

To serve their purpose most hap- pily, provision should be made for the convenient use of such applian- ces in the dining room, where guests er household members may have the added pleasure of seeing their toast emerge brown from the toaster, their waffles crisp. and tempting from the gleaming iron, their coffee bubbling cheerfully against the lit fle glass top of the percolator.

Made with a plain recipe, waffles may be served with creamed dishes, sach as chipped beef, asparagus, peas, chicken, or as an accompani- ment to fried or grilled sausages, at any informal meal These are likewise delicious when buttered and. served hot with syrup, honey, mar- malade or jam. They become "super" dish when served with crashed sweetened berries, peaches or bottled fruits and whipped cream. Made with cornflakes crushed, or with nuts, dates or raisins they are delicious tea dainties. Gingerbread batter cooked in the waffle iron and served with whipped cream and crushed bananas, pineapple or other fruit, makes an unusual, but very tempting after-dinner sweet.

A first cousin of the ordinary table toaster is the electric sand- wich toaster, made with two sec- tions connected with expanding hinges. Each section has an elec tric element.

In toasting sandwiches, the out- side of the brand is lightly buttered to facilitate browning. There is scarcely any limit to the variety that can be achieved in the fillings - for toasted sandwiches.
