LUZ'S GRIM STRUGGLE OVER 22 HEADS

MCKELVIE JUST BEATS RIBEIRO (By "Skip")

FTER a stiff battle, lasting over 22 heads, R. F. Luz Open Singles champion in 1929, final- ist the following year, and finalist again in 1933 when he was beaten by A. Hyde-Lay, was elimi- nated by A. E. Silkstone in the First Round of the Colony Singles Championship at the Kowloon Bowling Green yesterday.

Silkstone has never played a better game during his-long bowling career. If he maintains the high standard he set yesterday, there is every likelihood of his reaching the final and of even: annexing the title.

Silkstone did not take long to demonstrate that he was going to give Loz a very hard game, and scored a two on the second head.
