THE Chinese Recreation Club, who held the Dunlop Mixed Doubles League Shield in the 1933 season, meet the holders, the United Services Recreation Club, this afternoon on their own courts.
The Chinese team has been strengthened by the inclusion of Lee Wai-tong and W. C. Hung, both of whom played elsewhere last season." while Mrs. Lo Tung-fan sister-in-law of Gordon Lum. one of China's foremost tennis players. and Mrs. Enid - Lo-Litton; will support Mrs. Chin Tsun-chiu, who played last year.

THE Colony are to make a determined effort this year to win the Interport swimming contest when Shanghai come here towards the end of the season. Enthusiasm has been so increased that one of the leading swimming Clubs in the Far East the Victoria Recreation Club, have been communicating with the Japanese Amateur Athletic Federation with a view to obtaining the services of some college swimming coaches.
When an official of the Swimming Section of the Japan Federation passed through the Colony over a month ago, he was approached by VRC officials regarding the possibilities of secur- ing coaches during the summer months, but his replies were not very encouraging
It appears that there are no professional swimming, coaches in Japan, but that the colleges have their own swimming masters or advanced swimmers.
INQUIRIES SOLICITED ON BEHALF OF THE VRC IN JAPAN HAVE, HOWEVER HAD SOME RESULT. IT NOW AP- PEARS THAT SEVERAL JAPANESE SWIMMING. COACHES · WOULD BE QUITE WILLING TO COME TO THE COLONY DURING THE SUMMER VACATION FOR ABOUT ONE MONTH SOME TIME BETWEEN AUGUST AND JULY.
