GREAT secrecy is maintained with respect to the charges against Brigadier-General Yuan Tai and Colonel Chu Chuek-man, who were brought here from Shek Kee, near Macao, on board the river gunboat Chung Kai.
While no official statement is available, it is alleged that both men were engaged in smug- gling and other reactionary activities. This story is confirmed by a notification issued at Shek Kee by Colonel Leung Kung-fook, commanding offi- cer of a regiment of the Model Division.
