RICHEST GIRL IN THE WORLD"

Miriam Hopkins is one of the most versatile of the younger school of stars. Those who remember hor in "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde," and then recall her performance with Bing Crosby in "She Loves Me Not" will realise Just how versatile she can be.

In "The Richest Girl in the World," the present attraction at the King's Theatre, she has her most difficult role-and comes out with all flags flying.

BRIDGE NOTES

Nearest Thing To A New Play

og Ely Culbertson

I am one of those who are of the] opinion that there is no such thing as a brand new type of play. The game we play to-day started many Was years ago with whist and gradually evolved through the bridge whist and auction stages. The play of the hand in all that time has been very much the same, and years of experience have cover- ed almost every possible situation, so that, technically speaking, every type of offensive and defensive play can be and has been catalogued.

However, the hand which I am showing to-day involves the closest thing to a new defensive play that I have ever seen.
