Canton, To-day. Over 30,000 troops have arrived Kweiyang, provincial capital of Kweichow, to defend it against the invading Communists, who are at Hsiuwen, only 30 miles away.

The Kwangsi troops were expected to reach Kweiyang on Saturday evening and will take part in the defence of the town. General Chiang Kai-shek is still in the provincial capital, accord- ing to an official report.
