Stirring Address On Manchukuo Conditions

GENERAL SECRETARY'S REPORT

One of the most encouraging, annual meetings ever held in Hong Kong by the British and Foreign Bible Society was the one which met last evening in the hall of the Helona May Institute, presided over by the President of the Hong Kong Auxillary, the Right Rev. The Bishop of Victoria, and ad- dressed by the General Secretary of Bible Society, the Rev., G. W. Sheppard of Shanghai, and by the Secretary for the South China Dia trict, the Rev. H. O. T. Burkwall, of Canton, whose more than 40 years of indefatigable service was high- ly praised.

The spirit of optimism and cheer and hearty co-operation manifested by all in attendance Indicated that the Bible Society may count on in- creased assistance along various lines by the Hong Kong Auxiliary in the future. This increased a8- sistance
