An Indian hockey team is to leave for New Zealand early in April and will be away from India for about five months.

New Zealand and Australia.j have been negotiating with India for about five years for a hockey team to visit them and it had been decided to send a team' to (both those Dominions early this [year.

Unfortunately Australia found herself unable to carry on with the scheme and withdrew..

New Zealand, however, with the pleasant memories of the visit in 1920 of the Indian Army Hockey team, offered to arrange the visit herself with the present satisfac- tary result,

VERY YOUNG TEAM

The Indian team is a very young one, the only two experienced | players (from the International viewpoint), being Dhyan Chand, the famous centre-forward - and his brother Rup Singh. Dhyan Chand, the captain, was the hero of the Indian Army team's visit to New zealand nine years ago when he lone, scored over a hundred goals.
