The Kwelchow provincial troops are attempting to defend Tsunyi In Northern Kwalchow, which is being attacked by 60,000 Communists under the command of the notorious Lin Plao, according to a report received here today from, General· Wang Chia-lich, Chairman of the Kwelchow Provincial Government.

General Wang added that his troops are preparing to recapture Tungtsu, and Sungkan, which have heen occupied by the Communist riff-raff since February 26. The Rede are making desperate drives to capture Taunyi, said General Wang, but if they are unsuccessful they will turn to Chingan, which is North-east of Taunyi.
