Indian Markets
This last few weeks enquiry has been of fair extent, but business has been difficult to arrange. Of the Indian centres, 'Calcutta has booked both dhaoties and whites, whilst some of the dyed and fancy stylen have been under offer. Karachi and Madras have taken odd lines of light speciality cloths but in the main limits have proved unwork- able.
Some of the larger markets like Bombay and Madras remain disap- pointingly quiet but there are in-. dications that a revival will be shown in the New Year.
The up- country outlets have made tentative bids for dyed satins, pongees and shirtings and one or two standard lines have resulted.
Chinn And Far East Trade for China remains prac tically unaltered and apart from Isolated lots of poplins and brocades, the turnover' has been maigre. Both Rangoon and the Straits Set- tlements, however, have put forward more enquiry and the outlook is more hopeful,
