"OF HUMAN BONDAGE", KING'S THEATRE

W. Somerset Maugham's poignant and powerful story, "Of Human Bondage," is at last brought to the screen by RK.0.-Radio.

It is the story of Philip Carey, played by Lelle Howard, who be Ileves that dreams and human bond- ages are the stuff of which mortals | are made of, He himself was in bondage-enamoured to a beautiful,, but worthless and utterly selfish, woman, whom he worships with a strange passion stronger than any- thing he possesses in life.

As Philip Carey, a medical stu dent, he is well bred, artistically in- clined, and is doubly sensitive be-l cause he is lame. He meets Mil- dred, a waitress, and is at first in- trigued and then enslaved by her.

He is powerless to break the mysterious chains which bind him: to Hildred, who takes what he has to offer, but gives nothing in return,į and even the love of an intellectual woman of his own class is unable to free him from the bondage.
