TRIANGULAR HOCKEY TOURNAMENT WIN FOR CLUB OVER NAVY
CAUSE OF NATIONAL HUNT ACCIDENTS
THE CORRECT WAY TO RIDE A HORSE

I think that the cause of the trouble is not so much height but the actual position of the fences. The chief faults are bad approaches, a fence in a fold in the ground, or on a turn, a bad landing, and the first few fences being too narrow for large fields until they get strung out.
MUCH GRIEF IS DUE TO THE FACT THAT MANY HOLES ARE NOT PROPERLY SCHOOLED. AND THAT THE FENCES ON THE HOME GALLOPS ARE NOT BROAD ENOUGH ΤΟ MAKE HORSES SPREAD THEMSELVES.
Breadth is as important as height: in teaching horses to jump, particu- larly the chaser, who must negoti ate well-built-up regulation fences| which in most cases will not allow horses to take liberties by brushing| through the tops.

The Navy made several changes in the side which lost to the Army on Wednesday by 6 goals to 3, Cook Wilson being replaced in goal by Sub. Lieut. Baines, and Paym. Lleut. Birkitt coming in for Lieut.
