The honouring of two dístin- guished persons, His Excellency the Governor, Sir William Peel, K.C.M.G., K.B.E., M.A., and Dr. Hu Shih, B.A., Ph.D., Liarked a red- letter day in the annals of the University of Hong Kong at its 26th annual Congregation yesterday.

Degrees of LL.D. honoris causs were conferred on His Excellency the Governor, and the distinguished Chinese scholar.
