There is little room in the London- of these days, so it seems, for the |"Dickensian" muffin men and flower! {"girls" and some of the other pic-1 turesque street traders.characteris- tic of the metropolis of the past.

The muffin men in particular are; having a pretty thin time of it just now, largely as a result of the cam- paign now being carried on for a less niosy London. They have dia- covered that if they ring their small handbells in the streets of this city they are more than likely to incur the displeasure of the law.

In fact, one muffin man was;
