Can Germany's
new airship, LZ 129, now under construction, be filled with noninflammable helium gas, or must it fall back on hydro- gen? This is a question Dr. Hugo Eckener hopes to answer during his visit to America.
The advantages of helium are obvious, but, owing to the large quantity required for a ship of this size, the process of filling undertaken in could only be

Dr. Hydrogen, according to Eckener's experience with the Graf, Zeppelin, is quite reliable. Its use as a filling agent has one great advantage. Owing to the bulk of the airship which was built for helium, enough gas could be taken
