BALKAN DISPUTE HUNGARY ACCEPTS DRAFT

RESOLUTION

INTERNATIONAL LAW MAY BE AMENDED

GENEVA, TO-DAY.

THE STORM IN THE BALKANS HAS BLOWN OVER BY THE HUNGARIAN AC- CEPTANCE OF A DRAFT RESOLUTION DEALING WITH THE YUGOSLAV - HUN- GARIAN DISPUTE.

The resolution condemns the Marseilles crimes and expresses the view that no State can neglect any means likely to prevent such crimes occurring in future.

The debate and documents placed before the League Council show negligence and their responsibilities on the part of certain Hungarian authorities concerning matters relating to the plot culminating in the Marseilles tragedy,

The Council expects the Hungarian Government to fulfil its International obligations and asks it to communicate appropriate sanctions to be taken against the authorities found to be culpable of this negligence.

The Council considers that the rules of international law con-

cerning terrorist activity are not sufficient to guarantee efficient

and international co-operation, therefore decides to establish a committee of experts to study the question, with a view to drawing up an international convention.

The Council unanimously adopt- ed the resolution.
