MR. STANLEY BALDWIN, DURING THE IMPERIAL DE- FENCE DEBATE IN THE HOUSE OF COMMONS, YESTER- DAY, EXPLAINED THAT THE BRITISH AIR PROGRAMME PROVIDES FOR A VERY SUBSTANTIAL, PROPORTION. "BE- ING COMPLETED WITHIN TWO YEARS. TWENTY-TWO SQUADRONS WILL BE FORMED FOR HOME DEFENCE IN 1935 AND 1996, BESIDES THREE SQUADRONS FOR THE FLEET AIR ARM.

The whole 25 squadrons will be additional to the four already being formed in the current year. First Line strength will be thus increased by 300 aircraft, plus the necessary reserves, which the R.A.F. considers ample.
