The vanguard of the Nanking troops reached Chenchow, in Southern Hunan, last night. Four divisions are rushing down overland from Chuchow, the northern terminus of the Canton. Hankow Rallway, according to reports reaching here.
Big battles are expected in the next few days between the Nan- king. troops, and. Communists, who are hiding in Kweitung and Jucheng in southern Hunan. It appears that the Central Au-j thorities count on their own troops rather than the provincial forces in suppressing the Reds in southern Hunan before they can' escape westward.
If necessary, more Nanking troops will be sent to Hunan.
