Silver Prices Falter

The local dollar declined, open- ing on demand this morning at 1/74, which is a nominal rate.

Both spot and forward silver de- clined, closing yesterday at 234 and 23%, respectively.

Saturday's rubber market was easter following the further heavy declines in the primary markets. There was no pressure to self, but buyers were adopting a waiting at- titude. The general market was dull and uninteresting.

Better advices from the raw rub- bermarkets had a stimulating effect on the local market on Men- day, Rates generally showed a small advance with a little broader demand. The only Item of Interest in the general market was the steady demand for Shanghai Lands; 4,300 of these shares being done at
