The possible consequences of China's tax on silver cannot be immediately gauged. It is ex- pected that silver purchasing will continue as usual, at least for the present.
Some draw attention to the fact that, at least for the pre- sent, the tax is proving a boomerang to China, due to the silver price soaring to its highest mark for more than five years.
